Background

EXO is a public transit agency (PTA) that began operations in June 2017..

EXO’s network includes various park-and-ride lots to allow users greater accessibility to buses and other commuter trains. And it is precisely at these strategic locations that EXO identified the need for smart, self-cleaning public restrooms to provide a simple and effective solution for riders.

The toilets would be used by both bus drivers and customers and would have the following features, among others

– self-cleaning,  anti-vandal, anti-graffiti, pre-fabricated and non-genre

The challenge for Urben Blu

Since the starting conditions were almost all among our main specifications, we took all the necessary steps to demonstrate the different functionalities of our smart toilets.

In addition to the factors listed above, the most important factor for EXO was the solidity of the building. Both in the materials and in the design itself to be as resistant as possible to vandalism, which is very present in the park-and-ride environment.
