To create a park that would be accessible to all: this is the mission that Rivi\u00e8re-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles (RDP-PAT) has given itself.\r\n\r\nAccess to the park, the sanitary facilities and all the play modules had to be totally accessible to all, adults and children, with or without functional limitations of all kinds.\r\n\r\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>The challenge for Urben Blu<\/strong>\r\n\r\nTo meet the various accessibility needs of all, our intelligent, self-cleaning and vandal-proof toilets were the solution they were looking for, but there were still certain functionalities that needed to be adapted for their needs.\r\n\r\nWe suggested a \"dual toilet\" model with smart features, meaning that it cleans itself after a user passes through (both the floor and the toilet), and includes two universally accessible toilets, one of which is large enough to accommodate a person in a wheelchair and their attendant and includes an adult changing table, which is extremely rare for a park facility. A water fountain was added to meet the needs.\r\n\r\nThe personalization and the choice of exterior materials was made by the project managers, in order to integrate well with the design of the park in general.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>Result<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSince its creation, St. Joseph Park has established itself as a true reference in terms of accessible facilities. Many municipalities have approached the borough to learn more about the various stages of the project.\r\n\r\nUrben Blu is extremely proud to be part of this success story and the result meets the expectations of citizens very well.\r\n\r\nNadine Bergeron, foreman of horticulture and parks at the City of Montreal (RDP-PAT), comments with a touch of humor, one way to know if the project is a success with citizens: \"We have not had any complaints from citizens so far, so it's a very good sign for us.
